Val d’Isere is considered to be the world’s premier ski resort. It offers the best skiing together with lively après ski. The area boasts 97 lifts taking you up to 3500 m with a glacier and guaranteed snow. In 2009 the resort hosted the World Championships, a fortnight of the best competitive Alpine skiing in the world. The newly opened Solaise Express gondola, with heated seats and wi-fi is an excellent addition to the facilities and has opened an improved area for non-expert skiers. Val d’Isere offers plenty for the non-skier with many cleared walks, shops and a brand new large leisure centre with indoor swimming pool and a gym. There is a selection of traditional and modern restaurants, bars and nightspots.
